Where your data lives

Everything you add to Dash — jobs, features, tasks, notes — is stored in this browser on this device. It doesn't sync to a server. It doesn't follow you to another computer or phone. And we can't see it.

What this means for you: clear your browser's site data, switch to a different browser, or pick up a new device, and this copy of Dash will start empty. That's why the backup file below matters — it's the one way to move your work between places or recover it after a cache clear.

Download a single file with everything inside — jobs, features, tasks, subtasks, the lot. Keep it somewhere safe. Email it to yourself. This is your safety net if this browser is cleared or this device dies.

Restore from a backup

Load a Dash backup file you saved earlier. This will replace your current jobs, so download a fresh backup first if you want to keep what's on this device.

Safe to upload. Backup files are plain JSON — they can't carry viruses or run code. Dash checks the file looks right before loading anything, and drops anything unexpected.
